A "Blue Heron" made a morning visit to our pond. He held himself high up in the tree bathing in the warm sunshine. This bird sure caused a curiosity for our Black Lab "Biggie" who stayed under the tree fascinated by this creature. What astonished me was this Heron did not fly off, he let me get close up to take pictures of him, it was like he loved having his photo taken. He maintained patience for quite some time. After many snapshots of this guy I walked back to the patio, coffee and camera in hand taking in the warm sunshine and waiting for that moment when I could catch him in flight. I must have sat there for over an hour waiting. I was starting to wonder if this bird had been wounded and couldn't fly. All other Blue Herons usually will take off as soon as we step outside the door, not this guy, he taught me patience to wait and enjoy the moment to be persistent and wait for that one shot. Eventually he did finally fly away, he out lasted me, I grew weary so I missed my moment. But I am Thankful for a beautiful morning and the time this entertaining bird gave me, a time to capture some great photos of our two cats "Paris" and "Stormy"
